Often, the hardest part of a journey is the first step.

I believe that the right therapist can not only help you be brave enough to take those steps, but can help you make journeys you would never believe you could make. We will work together to overcome challenges that have held you back in your life. The most important part of the work I do is to provide clients with a safe and non-judgmental environment where you feel comfortable expressing your thoughts and feelings and sharing all of who you really are.

My passion is to help my clients increase their satisfaction with their life by decreasing conflicts and problems and increasing connection, with themselves and others. I love helping clients understand themselves better, and also learn practical tools to help you or your child to live a life to its greatest potential. Together, we will explore ways to achieve your goals and decrease whatever it is that has been holding you back from achieving them already.

My approach...

My areas of specialty include anxiety, depression, relationship issues, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), phase of life issues, self-esteem and low confidence issues, adjustment issues, work related issues, and family and couples conflict.

I have specialized experience working with teen and young adult psychosis and first psychotic breaks, child and adult trauma, suicidal thoughts/ideations and crisis management. I enjoy working with adults throughout the lifespan, as well as couples and families and I love working with LGBTQIA+ clients.

I believe in “meeting a client where they are at” and work together with you to identify areas in your life where changes can be made to increase your overall wellbeing and enjoyment of your life. I want to be an active part in your journey to better mental health and do this by collaborating WITH you rather than directing you on what to do.

My therapeutic orientation primarily focuses on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused work, and Mindfulness Theory. Foremost, however, I center you as a client in our work together and I pull from multiple theories in order to meet your needs and assist with progress towards your goals.

Professional training & memberships...

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2005 from the University of California, San Diego and completed my master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University in 2008. I am licensed in the state of Washington as a Marriage and Family Therapist (credential #LF60988085) and am a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT). I am trained in the CAPPS model (Center for the Assessment and Prevention of Prodromal States) which focuses on teens and youth who have experienced a first psychotic break or are at a higher risk of experiencing a psychotic break.
