Pronouns: she/her

Life is inherently challenging. Difficult childhood experiences, systemic oppression, challenging relationships, and traumas all impact the degree to which we can be present in life. We can lose touch with our emotions, intuitive wisdom, and decision-making capacity through these hardships. I believe (and contemporary science supports this!) that this happens on all layers of our being: physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and interpersonally. My role as a counselor is to co-create a space where the systemic, multifaceted intelligence of being can be known.

A systemic approach to understanding humanness is also important to me as a counselor. As a cis/het white woman, I am compelled to constantly question and address how my power
operates as a “mental health” professional. I love working with clients from a wide range of life circumstances and cultural backgrounds, including neurodivergent, LBGTQIA2+ and BIPOC individuals. As a therapist, I am committed to continually expanding my range of what it means to heal in a complicated world beyond my own experience/personal bias. My deepest mission is to bring a non-judgmental, relational, non-harming stance to my role as a therapist.

I received my master’s degree in Couple and Family Therapy from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon in 2016. I am a current Counselor Education and Supervision doctoral candidate at Antioch University. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and an Approved Clinical Supervisor in Washington state.

I have also completed advanced training in several areas of counseling including somatic/trauma-informed approaches to healing (including body psychotherapy, polyvagal, and EMDR). I am extensively trained in family systems (as I worked for five years within the child welfare and family law systems as a family preservation specialist, parent coach, and family reunification therapist). These include certification in Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) and advanced training in AF-CBT (Alternatives for Families: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). Finally, I
have completed several advanced trainings and certifications in yoga/mindfulness over the last 15 years which highly inform my work as a therapist.
