Gaby Sanchez, LMF TA
I am a marriage and family therapist associate with a certification in play therapy, and I care deeply about people and helping clients live their best life possible. I believe that therapy can help you identify your values, goals and dreams, untangle restrictions, and design practical solutions for living a more vibrant and mindful life.
I am invested in helping clients discover themselves and cultivate fulfilling relationships with partners, family, friends, and others in their community.
As a Latina, I understand the acculturation process, how living in a dominant culture that sees you as an outsider can lead to things like anxiety and depression, and the importance of being able to express yourself in your own language.
Gaby is in-network with most Premera, LifeWise, Anthem and other Blue Cross plans.
I have experience working with clients across the lifespan and see children (age 4+), teens, adults, and older adults. I believe that if children receive the support and guidance they need when they are young, they will be better-equipped adults. I have experience working with youth around issues in school, peer, and family relationships by fostering acceptance, empathy, and problem solving. I have also worked with children who have experienced trauma and loss, and find that play therapy can really help children move through and heal from these experiences.
While working with adults and older adults, I understand the different stages of life and the transitions we face as adults, which might include starting a new career, getting married, becoming a parent, or retiring. I prioritize communication and openness in therapy because I believe these often clarify mixed emotions and confusion.
I use EMDR with teens and adults to help with a variety of things that might be holding you back, including trauma, anxiety or anything that just keeps you stuck.
I use other evidence-based practices including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), play therapy (incorporating art and sand tray), attachment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and a skills-based approach that embraces and helps facilitate change to help you reach your goals.
