Mel Glaze, Clinical Intern

Pronouns: she/they

The desire to feel seen and understood began my therapy journey, and the power of being witnessed inspired me to become a therapist. While I don’t know the exact journey you’ve been on, my guess is you have realized you need some help. Whether you’re seeking it for the first time or continuing a journey that has already begun, I see that choice as courageous.

Everything we need already exists within us. These inner resources can become buried or hard to reach, and sometimes we need the support of others to help us find them again. I hope our work together will provide a haven where you can find connection and feel like all parts of you are welcome.

My intersectional identity as a neurodivergent, Black-biracial/binational, queer and 2nd generation immigrant informs the way I see the world. I want to support others as they navigate multiple identities in different contexts, particularly BIPOC individuals, interracial couples, and multicultural families.

My approach...

Therapy is a place to focus on you and what you need. I aim to collaborate with you to find wholeness within yourself (or your family unit) and the supportive relationships and community needed to sustain the growth you experience in therapy. Together, we’ll set goals and find strategies that get you closer to the life you want to live.

I lean on collaborative, strengths-based, person-centered perspectives while holding a systemic, trauma-informed, and non-pathologizing orientation to thinking about people and their circumstances. I integrate theories like Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Attachment Theory, Polyvagal Theory, and body-based somatic practices to provide a holistic, anti-oppressive, and affirming experience.

Professional training & memberships...
