Pronouns: he/him

My aim is to help clients heal from old wounds so they can live in the present and build a life that feels meaningful to them. Most of the clients I work with have experienced trauma of some kind, whether in a single isolated event or through many events over the course of their lifetime.

I am skilled at helping folx explore the ways in which their trauma has impacted their life so that they can begin the work of unpacking their feelings, grieving what was lost, and finding a way to move forward with a deeper sense of connection to themselves and to others.

My approach...

Therapy should be collaborative, creative, and tailored to each client's unique needs. My integrative approach draws from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP), psychodynamic theory, and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). In addition to psychotherapeutic techniques, I often call on my undergraduate training in philosophical inquiry to help clients who are grappling with fundamental questions about the nature of life, the universe, and everything (as Douglas Adams so neatly phrased it).

I am committed to practicing from a multicultural, intersectional, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed lens that acknowledges how systems of power affect folx on a personal level.

Clients tell me they appreciate my warmth, curiosity, patience, and sense of humor. I frequently work with clients who are neurodiverse and/or transgender, both of which are identities I share. Many folx I work with have had experiences of feeling othered and unheard in past therapy, or have been told they are “too much” or “resistant” to therapy. If this sounds like you, I invite you to reach out to me for a consultation. While I cannot guarantee we would be good fit, I welcome the opportunity to learn more about you as a person and what you are hoping to find in therapy. The person is never the problem; you are not a puzzle to be solved, but rather a person who deserves respect and support.

Professional training & memberships...

I graduated from Bryn Mawr College in 2008 with a BA in Philosophy. In 2021, I earned my M.Ed. in Counseling from University of Puget Sound, a CACREP accredited institution. I am currently licensed as an LMHCA in Washington state, and I am a Certified Trauma Professional (CTP). I continue to expand my education by reading widely, keeping abreast of research in the field to provide the best evidence-based care, and participating in workshops, seminars, and other structured trainings.
