Sometimes, we forget the extent to which our relationships and connections are foundational to our wellbeing. At the heart of these connections is a continued commitment to building compassion towards each other and finding meaning in the world together. Developing an ongoing therapeutic relationship can foster this sort of personal growth as well as serve to restore those parts of ourselves that have not had the opportunity to heal.

The practice of therapy is unique in the way it honors moments of vulnerability, and seeks authenticity. The most effective therapeutic spaces are also collaborative ones, those in which people are encouraged to cultivate a curiosity about their lives and investigate their place within it. It is by way of these explorations that we may discover a better sense of self, experience greater joy in our loves, and find healing where and when we need it most.

My approach...

I specialize in working with adolescents, although I am also passionate about working with couples, adult individuals, and families with teens or older.

I utilize a client-centered approach, which highlights the client as the expert in their life. As we work together, I will follow your lead in what you would like out of therapy, while creating a warm and compassionate therapeutic environment.

As a systemic therapist, I like to explore your Family of Origin, as well as the other systems in your life, such as various communities. When discussing your relationship to others, I draw from Attachment Theory, which explores how your attachment styles may impact the way you interact with those around you. If you happen to be experiencing anxiety, or are feeling overwhelmed, I like to bring mindfulness tools into my practice, as well as somatic exercises to help us slow down and feel more grounded. As we work together, we will find the balance between comfort and a healthy amount of challenge. Throughout my work, I use an anti-oppression lens, and strive to create a space where individuals with multiple intersectionalities can feel comfortable to explore their identities, and feel empowered to harness their autonomy and agency in therapy and elsewhere.

When working with couples or individuals in consensual non-monogamous relationships, I utilize the Gottman approach. As a sex therapist, I place an emphasis on sex positivity, consent, and personal agency throughout my work.

Professional training & memberships...

I received my MA in Couple and Family Therapy along with my training in Sex Therapy from Antioch University Seattle. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate in Washington State (#MG61339699). I am currently a member of the Washington Associate of Marriage and Family Therapy (WAMFT), along with the American Associate of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). I previously worked for the crisis clinic, where I received training working with teenagers in crisis.
