These are the symbolic meanings of the protea (pronounced: pro-TAY-uh) flower, and why we chose this as a symbol of our practice. Because we understand the courage and daring it takes to take the step to create a real transformation in your life.
Even if you don't think you are these things- just reaching out to start the work proves you are, and we can help you believe it too!
And diversity, an especially important meaning for us, because our most important values are inclusiveness and working with clients from an anti-oppression lens.
Protea Wellness is a group practice designed to meet the needs of everyone in our community. Our therapists have diverse backgrounds and specialties. They vary in their expertise - working with clients across the lifespan with a wide range of concerns. It's our goal to find the therapist that is the right fit for you or your loved ones. We work to continually grow our specialties through education and supervision so that we can continue to help our clients and provide therapy for the whole family.

Our offices are in a little craftsman house near the Morgan Junction in West Seattle. Plenty of free street parking is available throughout the neighborhood and the office is very close to stops for bus routes 22, 116, 118, 119, 128, 773 and the C-Line.
The office is, unfortunately, not accessible to those who cannot climb some stairs. We do, however, provide counseling via online sessions. There is also an option for clinicians to visit clients in their home or other preferred location, if they are unable come to the office either because of distance or disability.
Our offices are kept scent-free.
