Jennifer Creson, LMHC

Pronouns: she/her

I believe that people are already whole and that what we perceive as our brokenness usually comes from some kind of disconnection from ourselves and other people. Anxiety, depression, a general feeling of loneliness, or feeling unlovable, all these stem from these disconnections.

I hope to help you learn more about your self-worth in the face of previous relationships, families, and systems that have told you that you aren’t good enough.

I specialize in working with LGBTQIA adults, people in non-traditional relationships structures, and kinky folks. I am also radically sex and body positive and am a sex therapist in training.

My approach...

I value and honor each person’s individual experiences and needs, acknowledging that many of us lose our sense of our uniqueness along life’s path. In my work, I use an "integrated" style of working with clients, drawing on a number of different modalities depending on the client's needs.

Some of the most prominent theories in my work are Attachment Theory, Social Justice/Anti-Oppression work, Internal Family Systems, Inclusive Feminist Theory and Mindfulness. For work with relationships, I use the PACT approach. You can read more about PACT here!

Professional training & memberships...

Professionally, I am trained as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor, and received my degree from Antioch University in Seattle. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington State, credential #LH60720663 and I am a member of the American Counseling Association, the Association for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Issues in Counseling; Counselors for Social Justice; and the Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development.

Jennifer is in-network with Premera, Cigna, First Choice, LifeWise, Anthem and some other Blue Cross plans and can also bill in network with Kaiser for transgender clients. Please be aware that Protea Wellness cannot accept insurance for couple's therapy.
