Anna Holden, Clinical Intern

Pronouns: they/them

I believe you and I are living, breathing collections of our values, beliefs, wounds, and patterns trying our best to forge connections, find sustainable work, conjure an income, and simply “do life” with some joy along the way.

When our old ways of being aren’t working, or when we’re feeling alone and unheard, therapy is the ritual space for transforming ourselves into new ways of being.

My approach...

My goal as a therapist is first and foremost create a space for you to be seen, heard, and respected unconditionally. I work collaboratively with you, always, and practice from a holistic, humanistic and person-centered stance. As a somatic practitioner, I incorporate polyvagal theory and encourage body-based practices in sessions to help you understand and work with your nervous system. I will draw elements from attachment theory, parts work, queer theory and feminist theory. As a former ecologist, I also use a nature-based, ecosystem, and eco-spiritual lens.

I offer individual, couple, child, and family therapy with an emphasis on the LGBTQIA+, ethical non-monogamy, polyamorous and kink communities. I bring a person-centered, trauma informed lens with roots in social justice. As a queer-gendered, polyamorous parent, I know how
important it is to have support structures that validate identity, queer living, and non-heteronormativity. With children and adolescents, I utilize play and expressive arts therapies.

You are the expert in your own life, and I am simply here to support you as you move through it. I look forward to a collaborative experience that supports you to find new ways to be in the world.
