I believe the transformative power of therapy begins with the relationship between you and your counselor.

The unique space created within the therapeutic setting is truly like no other. Unconditional, non-judgmental and supported; it is a space where I join you on your journey to understand, heal, and grow.

My approach...

While every therapeutic journey is as unique as the individual that embarks upon it and requires its own approach, I do center myself in the following theories and practices: Internal Family Systems, Attachment Theory, EMDR, and a respect for the wisdom of our bodies and nervous systems.

Being a person in the world, in our families and our communities, is challenging work. Especially when we’ve experienced trauma. In order to sustain ourselves we develop different internal parts that assist us and protect us. Sometimes as we grow, these parts can begin to cause internal conflict and turmoil resulting in behaviors or patterns that no longer serve us. Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a way of exploring, identifying and supporting all the parts of ourselves in order to heal and find harmony.

Attachment Theory creates a structure in which we can better understand how you learned to seek and experience love and safety as well as the ways that blueprint continues to reflect itself in your relationships today.

By incorporating EMDR we gain the ability to redefine how trauma has affected our brains, our bodies and our beliefs.

As we utilize these modalities collaboratively and creatively, you will grow in your understanding of yourself and heal the parts of you that have felt alone, reactive, or less-than.

I am passionate and dedicated to meeting each of my clients in their own truth and look forward to finding yours with you.

Professional training & memberships...

I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Antioch University Seattle, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate in Washington State credential #MC61116089. I have received additional training in treating trauma and the nervous system as well as both Level 1 and 2 EMDR trainings. My previous experience has been in a community mental health setting working with a wide variety of chronic and acute diagnosis as well as life stages and transitions.
