We all go through tough times. Yet for many of us, the hardest thing is to ask for help.

I believe that every struggle we have in life gives us a chance to heal from the past, and to strengthen who we are. My role as your therapist is to provide a safe space to explore and uncover the resources and inner-knowledge you need to enact that healing and move forward from past pain. I believe in connecting with the whole person you already are to discover your best pathway to healing and growth.

You are the best expert on you, your thoughts and feelings, and what is going on in your life. My job is to walk alongside you to help you become more aware of your world, the things inside and outside that may be affecting you, and the possible solutions that are available to the issues that are causing you stress. I will also help you to approach the changes that you seek at a pace and in a manner that is respectful and therapeutically safe for you.

My approach...

I work with school age children, teens and adults, utilizing a variety of approaches tailored to the specific needs of the person and the situation. Depending on what fits your situation, I draw from Eye Movement Desensitization Therapy (EMDR), Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), narrative approaches, attachment theory, and mindfulness based approaches. With children, I also incorporate play therapy and parent coaching techniques drawn from the Triple P parenting model.

I find that there is no one size fits all model for therapy so part of our work together will be exploring your specific needs and identifying approaches that work with you, your child, or your family.

Professional training & memberships...

I hold a degree in marriage and family therapy from Antioch University in Seattle, with a special emphasis on children and teens. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with the State of Washington, credential #LF60651912, and Child Mental Health Specialist. I have additional special training in EMDR, Play Therapy, Triple P Parent coaching, and DBT.

Throughout my career I have worked with the needs of children, adults, and families through social service and foster care agencies, providing  short term crisis interventions, and long term support for high risk individuals and families. I have experience working in and alongside schools and other social service providers working to support individuals with chronic conditions, PTSD, ADHD, as well as anxiety and depression, and life transition challenges.
