Therapy can be many things: the healing of old wounds, a new beginning, or simply a space to be witnessed. In my own therapeutic journey, I have found all of these to be true at one time or another. Often, problems can arise for us when the tools that we have grown to rely on are no longer able to meet life’s challenges. I see therapy as an opportunity to develop new tools and imagine new possibilities.
During our time together, my hope is that we will be able to explore the stories that silently guide you through life and uncover strengths that you may be overlooking in yourself. It’s through this exploration that we find paths through even life’s most daunting challenges.
My approach...
I work primarily with individual adults, couples, and families. My approach is person-centered, strengths-based, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed. I utilize a collection of modalities, including Psychodynamic, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Narrative, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), among others. The modalities we use together in our sessions will be guided by your goals and personality.
Whether you’re new to therapy and unsure of what to expect or what your goals are or have previous experience, I take my cues from you so that we may work toward your goals collaboratively. I prioritize building an open line of communication as a way to sustain trust and efficacy. In my own life I rely on the healing power of creativity and laughter, and welcome these in our work wherever possible.
Professional training & memberships...
I graduated with an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Antioch University Seattle. Prior to grad school, I earned a BA in Psychology from California State University, Sacramento.
During my Master’s program, I trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and am working toward certification in the modality. I am currently in Antioch University’s Sex Therapy Certification program and will be completed in late 2026. I have experience working with adults, couples, and families at a behavioral health agency in Washington state, and am a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA).
