Osiyo! My culture has a saying: All of you be like a foundation of a home for one another.

As a therapist, I find that our identities and experiences shape how we build connection and work together. I am 2Spirit (“trans-masc”), queer, Indigenous (Cherokee Nation), and neurodivergent/differently abled. I recognize my many privileges as someone who is white-presenting and a naturalized citizen. I share my identities and privileges to acknowledge how we may connect and emphasize that I actively work with you to understand who you are, what matters to you, and how we can work together to leverage your skills and strengths to help lay a strong foundation for your well-being.

In sessions, I try to remain objective but have learned over time that as a therapist I cannot be a “blank slate.” I will laugh with you. I will cry with you. I will sit with you through the discomfort and messiness that comes with living. Because in therapy it isn’t you and me vs your diagnosis— it is us vs systemic harms.

As a therapist, I have integrated this principle into practice: I approach each session as a chance to help you build a home, whether that be within your community or yourself. We all deserve to have a place that is safe.

If you are looking for a “blank slate” therapist, I may not be the right therapist for you. But if you are looking for someone who is genuine, honest, and comfortable sitting with you through the discomfort and mess that comes with being alive, then I would love to connect and understand how we can work together to build a stronger foundation.

I approach therapy knowing the different experiences we each have within the world. I rely on you as the expert of your own life and empower you to guide our work together. We will explore goals, identify strengths, and make space for curiosity and understanding at each step.

My approach...

My practice aims to deconstruct colonial practices through the integration of attachment theory, relational work, and is based in evidence-informed practices such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solutions-Focused Therapy (SFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), and mindfulness.

Each person is unique so I tailor my practice to best fit you and what you bring to our time together.

Professional training & memberships...

I completed my Masters of Social Work at Seattle University in 2023 and earned my Bachelors in Media Studies with a minor in Human Rights from University of California, Berkeley. I have attended trainings that included: motivation interviewing, DBT, trauma focused-CBT, CBT for psychosis, anger management certification, exposure and response prevention (Rogers Behavioral Health), therapeutic crisis intervention, domestic violence advocate (Domestic Abuse Women’s Network), and others.

I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the Washington Mental Health Counselors Association (WMHCA).
