Pronouns: they/she

As we begin to recognize our deepest feelings, we begin to give up, of necessity, being satisfied with suffering and self-negation, and with the numbness which so often seems like their only alternative in our society.”

-Audre Lorde

I believe therapy is about shaping change, shaping meaning, and creating spaces in which to thrive. The decision to face problems that have been ignored, or to seek help with problems that cannot seem to be resolved, is a step toward shaping change with conscious intention.

I believe positive therapeutic change happens when we become aware of our own agency, increase self-compassion, and take responsibility for cultivating pleasure and joy in our own lives and relationships.

When we know ourselves deeply and can embrace all of our parts with compassion and acceptance, we can imagine alternative perspectives and solutions. Even our so-called negative parts have positive uses if we get to know them and offer them more than one way of being. Often the things we keep hidden need to be understood, cared for, and treated kindly.

My approach...

Therapy can take as many forms as there are people, and my role is to guide, listen, witness, discover, support, challenge, teach, and learn with you.

My approach is creative, straightforward and tender. I am informed by strength-based, multicultural, feminist, and anti-oppression values, and I resonate most with Narrative, Attachment, Polyvagal, and Satir modalities.

I hope you will bring your whole self into our work so that I can have the honor of knowing you and seeing you fully for who you are. There is room for laughter, awkwardness, struggle, tenderness, raw honesty, silence, emotion, hard work, and rest. You and all of your complexity are welcome here.

Professional training & memberships...

I earned my MA in Couple and Family Therapy from Antioch University Seattle, and am an AASECT-trained Sex Therapist. Prior to receiving my Masters, I earned my BA degree in Music and Theology from Vanguard University in California.

I am licensed in the state of Washington as a Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (credential #MG 61222355), and am a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (Washington Division) (AAMFT/WAMFT) and the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT).
