LICSW

My belief is that therapy should be the ultimate safe space, where you can talk about anything and everything with no judgement. I strive to create an environment that welcomes everybody of all situations to explore vulnerability and challenge our deepest insecurities and negative emotions while also considering the impacts of life, culture, and personal experiences.

My approach...

I believe firmly in harm reduction and meeting clients where they are at. My goal is to work together with you to brainstorm collaboratively on solutions and ideas of how to move forward on a path of self-improvement and growth. I approach therapy from a place of treating symptoms, not labels and diagnoses, and moving at a pace and modality that makes the most sense for you.

I draw from multiple modalities such as Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and motivational interviewing (MI). I approach therapy from a systems and strengths based, person-in-environment, holistic point of view. I have experience working with people across the life span, focusing on mood disorders, depression and anxiety, trauma, ADHD, grief, and substance use.

Professional training & memberships...

I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Washington. I specialized in my education experience in substance use and mood disorders.

I am trained in Common Elements Treatment Approach (CETA) that is CBT based structured treatment used for substance use, trauma, and depression/anxiety. I am also trained in Solution Focused Brief Therapy.

I have worked with people with developmental disabilities in a job evaluation and training program; in inpatient psychiatric care providing 1:1 counseling and coping skills practice; in community based mental health care providing 1:1 therapy, conducting group therapies and assessments; and have been providing therapy across different settings for the last 5 years.
