Mary A. Beskar, LMFTA, ATR-P

Pronouns: she/her

Healing happens in relationship, and therapy offers the chance to have a relationship unlike any other in your life. As your therapist, I am here to create a kind, secure, and compassionate space for you to safely explore whatever it is that you feel called to examine, reflect upon and heal. A space where you are welcome to bring in your whole and most honest self.

Engaging in therapy may not always be an easy path, but through the client-therapist relationship, you can know that I am there with you, to witness your truth and help guide you through the process.

It takes courage to be vulnerable and seek help from others, and I applaud you for taking this step towards making your wellness a priority. We all need supportive systems and I would be honored to be a part of yours.

My approach...

My theoretical approach is person-centered, strength-based and rooted in attachment theory, existential theory, and art therapy. I also use mindfulness and somatic awareness skills, and draw from narrative, internal family systems (IFS), and solution-focused therapies.  For couple/poly/partner work, I am trained in emotionally focused therapy (EFT) and the Gottman method.

As a systemic therapist, I take into account all aspects of your world and how they contribute to the uniqueness of you and how you, in turn, relate to the world.

As an art therapist, I offer creative activities to enhance and deepen your therapeutic experience and understanding of self. Art therapy can be integrated into your sessions as little or as much as you prefer. No prior creative skills are needed.

Mary's fees:

  • 50-minute session for individuals: $175

  • 50-minute session for couples: $175

  • 80-minute session for couples: $260

  • *note: the first session (after the 20 minute intro) for couples consists of 2 one-hour individual sessions- one hour with each half of the couple. We will discuss this in the intro session.

Professional training & memberships...

I hold a master’s degree in Couple and Family Therapy with Art Therapy from Antioch University, Seattle. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate in Washington State (#MG61205885) and am a Provisionally Board-Certified Art Therapist by the Art Therapy Credentials Board (ATP/ATCB #21-334).
