I believe that every individual has the innate capacity for personal growth and healing. Even when we find ourselves struggling with difficult life transitions that cause us to question our personal identities, self-worth, and future.

I believe my role is to work collaboratively with you, with compassion for your unique experiences, to build opportunities to reframe the past and move forward with greater freedom. I am committed to promoting resilience and stability within teens, adults, older adults, and couples; with a specific focus on LGBTQIA+ and marginalized identities.

My foundations are in advocacy and support of LGBTQIA+ concerns. I am committed to maintaining a diverse, equitable, and inclusive space, which serves as a safe harbor for those who identify as LGBTQIA+ and people of the global majority.

My approach...

My approach is rooted in the fundamental belief that each person holds within themselves the capacity for growth, healing, and self-understanding. I strive to create a warm, empathetic, and non-judgement space where you feel safe to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences without fear of criticism or judgment. I view you as the expert on your own life and strive to view your unique individual nature rather than assuming generalized problems based on your identity or diagnoses.

Issues of identity, depression, self-worth, life transition, and trauma are those that I see regularly. I gently challenge my clients to explore the root causes of their symptoms and to explore core beliefs about themselves, others, and the systems they exist within to gain new awareness into their emotional patterns.

My therapeutic orientation focuses on person-centered, existential, Gestalt, and emotionally focused theories. I also pull from multiple other orientations, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused therapy, when a more grounded and structured pathway is needed.

Professional training & memberships...

I am trained as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor and received my degree from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington State, credential #LH61485464.

I am a member of the American Counseling Association, Washington Mental Health Counseling Association, American Association for Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT); and the Society for Sexual, Affectional, Intersex, and Gender Expansive Identities.
