Myra Fortin,
Pronouns: she/her
LMFTA, ATR-P
As a queer, neurodivergent therapist, I understand the challenges of navigating a world that wasn’t built with all bodies, minds, or identities in mind. My lived experience shapes my commitment to creating a comfortable, supportive environment where healing and growth can
unfold. My hope is that you feel free to show up fully as yourself, complex, creative, tender, messy, brilliant, and know that you are genuinely seen.
I believe our stories are shaped by the connections we hold: with family, community, culture, and the systems around us. In therapy, I focus on understanding these influences and creating a space where you feel understood, respected, and empowered. With warmth, curiosity, and
deep respect for your lived experience, I offer a collaborative approach that honors your insights and fosters meaningful growth. Whether you’re seeking support for yourself, your family, or your relationships, we’ll work together to navigate challenges, uncover strengths, and build resilience
in ways that feel authentic to you. You are the expert on your life; I’m here to walk alongside you with compassion and clarity.
My approach...
I work from a person‑centered, sex‑positive, neurospicy, and justice‑oriented lens, honoring the many identities and experiences you bring into the room. I celebrate your individuality and weave your passions, interests, and strengths into our work to make the therapeutic process personal, engaging, and accessible.
The modalities I utilize and draw from most frequently include art therapy, narrative therapy, solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), attachment-based family therapy (ABFT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and emotion-focused therapy (EFT). Regardless of modality, I always work within a strengths-based, systems-focused, anti-oppressive, and socioculturally attuned framework.
As an art therapist, I integrate creative expression to support emotional processing, nervous system regulation, and self‑awareness. No artistic skill is required, just openness to exploration. I also specialize in supporting neurodivergent individuals, honoring your unique ways of navigating the world while fostering self‑acceptance, agency and growth.
I work with couples, families, teens and adolescents navigating trauma, neurodiversity, identity development, LGBTQIA+ experiences, open relationships/polyamory, shame, blended family dynamics, parenting and co‑parenting, grief, and many other life transitions. My goal is to help
you and your loved ones harness your strengths, deepen connection, and move through challenges with greater clarity and confidence.
