Sara Moran, LMHC

Pronouns: she/her

I believe therapy is a place where people can show up exactly as they are and feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted. Healing happens through relationship, safety, and curiosity. Therapy offers an opportunity to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with parts of ourselves that may have
been overlooked or pushed aside. In a world that often feels fast-paced, overwhelming, and demanding, I view therapy not as a place to be “fixed” but as a supportive process of understanding, growth, and self-compassion.

My approach to therapy is relational, collaborative, and client-centered. I strive to create a calm, supportive environment where trust can develop and clients feel comfortable exploring both challenges and strengths. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and often incorporate this approach when working with trauma, anxiety, and distressing life experiences. I also draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), while honoring the mind-body connection and recognizing how personal history, cultural context, and the current state of the world can impact emotional well-being.

I work with individuals across the lifespan and have a particular interest in supporting those navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and neurodivergence. I enjoy working with neurodivergent individuals and approach this work with curiosity, flexibility, and respect for each person’s unique way of thinking, processing, and experiencing the world. I am committed to ongoing learning and cultural humility, striving to understand diverse identities, backgrounds, and lived experiences. I tailor therapy to each client’s needs, pace, and goals; meeting them where they are with warmth, openness, and collaboration. My goal is to help clients feel more grounded, empowered, and connected to themselves, their inner strengths, and the lives they want to create.

Professional training & memberships...

I hold two masters degrees, one in Psychology and one in Counseling. I have experience working in community mental health, where I served 2.5 years as a Care Coordinator/Case Manager in a family drug court setting. I supported these families, and specifically their children, through navigating complex systems, substance use concerns, and recovery. I also worked as a
middle school counselor for 1.5 years, providing academic, social, and emotional support to adolescents during a critical stage of development.

I am trained in EMDR and am currently working toward EMDR certification, while pursuing advanced training focused on attachment injuries. I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA). My ongoing professional development reflects a commitment to trauma-informed, relational, and evidence-based care.
